It is no secret that I’m from Northern California and have worked from many Silicon Valley companies. Silicon Valley has tremendous diversity and as a result, I was introduced to many startups in the 2000s era. This is what prompted me to create this list for SF-Bay Area companies.

The Bay Area, including San Francisco and Oakland, are two of the most beautiful places in the world. They are also among the most expensive. In fact, it’s getting so expensive that a lot of people are leaving to go elsewhere. The prices here can be nuts and as someone who has lived in San Francisco, I can tell you there is no charm that comes with giving up on your dreams and living in a shoebox in Alameda.

There are many places in the Bay Area that are great to work at. The Bay Area has a lot of companies that offer great benefits, work environments and opportunities for growth. If you’re looking for a new job then here are some of the best places to work in the Bay Area.

It is based in Mountain View, California and was incorporated in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were Ph.D. students at Stanford University. Both Page and Brin had limited expertise with computer programming, so they taught themselves how to make a website, which at the time was known as BackRub.

The pair’s research project about ranking of websites led them to develop the Google search engine in 1996, which was released publicly in August 1997 under its original name: BackRub. In September 1998, Page personally bought all rights to “Google” for $1 million (about $1m) after being urged by friends including investor Ram Shriram as well as his girlfriend Marissa Mayer who later became CEO at Yahoo!
