Information about the e-Visa for Nigeria

The Nigeria e-Visa is an electronic visa for Nigeria implemented in order to expedite entry to the African nation for investors with business interest in the country.

The Nigeria visa online application has been introduced by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to allow business travelers to easily obtain travel authorization exclusively online and avoid the need to wait in long lines and fill out paperwork for a visa on arrival at border control checkpoints.

An approved online Nigeria visa allows a single entry stay of 30 days in Nigeria for business activities, and is valid for 14 days to enter the country from the date of approval.

To apply for a Nigeria business visa online, it is necessary to fill in the simple electronic Nigeria visa application form, which can be completed in a matter of minutes.

After completing the online Nigeria visa application with basic personal, passport, and travel information, the applicant is required to upload some supporting documents and pay a visa processing fee before they can submit the form.

Once the e-Visa for Nigeria is processed, usually within 2 business days, the approved Nigeria travel visa is sent to the traveler by email. They can then print a copy to present to Nigerian immigration authorities upon arrival.

Those who wish to visit the country for longer periods of stay, or apply for another type of visitor’s permit such as a Nigeria tourist visa, transit visa, or work visa, should contact their nearest Nigerian embassy or consulate for further information.

Last update: 16/12/2021

International travel to Nigeria is now possible. Passengers aged 10 and over must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result in English from a test taken within the 48 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. All passengers are subject to health screening. Those who have not been fully vaccinated must complete 7 days of quarantine upon arrival. Travelers must register their details online before departure (this generates a QR code that must be presented upon arrival in Nigeria).
