American Visa In Nigeria

For most people outside of the United States, the prospect of getting an American visa has always been a distant dream that seems more inaccessible with every passing moment. There have been various methods and routes one could take in order to obtain an American visa. But one cannot ignore the fact that the most convenient way to get an American visa used to be through obtaining a Nigerian citizenship and then proceed to apply for an immigrant or D-visa (The Nigerian visa).

You have decided to study abroad in any of the world’s best universities. However, before you send your application form, you have to gain admission into the said university. For that, you must have what is termed as a student visa by the American Embassy where you intend to pursue your education. Students all over the world try their luck in getting American student visas but unfortunately, only few students get what they want.

Applying for a visa spurs anxiety in many people every year. The process is made even more difficult by the complex guidelines and requirements for obtaining a visa. Many people are not fully aware of the visa application process and end up losing valuable time and money.

WHAT IS A VISA?

A citizen of a foreign country who seeks to enter the United States generally must first obtain a U.S. visa, which is placed in the traveler’s passport, a travel document issued by the traveler’s country of citizenship or nationality.

Certain international travelers may be eligible to travel to the United States without a visa if they meet the requirements for visa-free travel under the Visa Waiver Program .  The Visa section of this website is all about U.S. visas for foreign citizens to travel to the United States.  If you cannot find what you are looking for here, please visit Travel.State.gov  for additional information.

Note: U.S. citizens do not need a U.S. visa for travel to the United States, but when planning travel abroad a U.S. citizen may need a visa issued by the embassy or consulate of the country they wish to visit.
