You’re looking for the best summer vacation spots in the northeast US and believe me, I feel you. Going to family reunion with strange family members can be a bummer. However, there are also times when we get together with our close ones, go on holiday as a part of vacation celebration or to see some place and see nature or whatever it may be. If this is the reason that you want to visit any part of the northeastern region of America, then I will definitely help you by telling you more about where all you can go along with some essential information which could save your time when going on your trip.
The summer is almost upon us. The next three months will be spent planning for our next vacation. Holidays and more importantly, vacations, are the only time our family spends together. This year, we decided to head for vacation in northeast usa. A trip to the summer capital of United States, Washington D.C., with kids under 11 would have been a daunting task but with most things planned beforehand, we had a smooth and trouble free trip.
When it comes to summer vacations, you have a ton of options when you’re ready to hit the open road. The northeastern United States has some of the most popular, fun-filled destinations for anyone looking for a great summer vacation. The region has tons of great beaches, museums, theme parks, and historic sites to visit. There are also some amazing hikes and trails available for those who like being outdoors. And if you’re looking for something different than the usual beach break or city trip, you’ll find plenty of quirky attractions that are sure to bring a smile to your face.

The Northeast United States is a great place to visit in the summer. There are many sites, parks and activities including beaches, historical sites and amusement parks.
New York City: New York City is one of the most popular summer destinations in the northeast. New York City offers a wide range of attractions and activities for all ages from museums, historic landmarks, art galleries and Broadway shows to amusement parks like Coney Island and Rockaway Beach.
Boston: Boston is home to many historical landmarks including Fenway Park, Museum of Fine Arts, Harvard University among others. Boston also has a large selection of beaches on Cape Cod as well as several amusement parks such as Six Flags New England in Agawam.
Philadelphia: Philadelphia has plenty of attractions including Independence Hall which served as the meeting place for the Second Continental Congress in 1775 before signing the Declaration of Independence on July 4th 1776; Liberty Bell Center; Franklin Institute Science Museum; National Constitution Center; Reading Terminal Market; Philadelphia Zoo; Adventure Aquarium; Please Touch Museum; Eastern State Penitentiary (home to Edgar Allen Poe while writing “The
1.) Gorge on fresh lobster at Bar Harbour, Maine
On the northeast shores of Mt Desert Island, Bar Harbour is one special little place that’s well worth a gander at. Head into the town itself and gorge in one of the quaint, independent, restaurants that line the little streets.
Make sure to visit Rose Eden Restaurant, where they serve fresh lobster, with lashings of butter, all right from the shorefront at a very reasonable price too.
If you’re looking to work off all those buttery calories, take a walk along the Ocean Trail by the town. It’s something else.
2.) Time for a tipple on Nantucket Island
Approximately 3o miles from the shores of Cape Cod, Nantucket Island is one lovely little spot to visit.
Make sure to pop into the Nantucket Vineyard that also crafts local beers (Don’t forget to ask for a taster of some of their limited edition casks).
If you’re looking for a little R&R, then head towards Madakat Beach, arguably one of the nicest, sandy beaches, on the island.

3.) Watch the sunset at Grand Isle, Vermont
If you’re heading north in Vermont, make sure to take a pit stop on the gorgeous Grand Isle.
This intimate little island is only home to a few thousand people who really care about this gorgeous place.
Head to the beautiful Grand Isle State Park for a little ramble around the beautiful nature, it’s a great place to watch the sunset across the shores too.

4.) See the roaring falls of Finger Lakes, New York
Last time I visited Finger Lakes was in the midst of a crazy thunderstorm for a night in a tent. It was terrifying and exhilarating in equal measure.
Thankfully, thunderstorms are few and far between and the whole area is a breathtaking place to enjoy a few days away from the hustle and bustle of, say, New York City.
Make sure to take some time to visit, the roaring, Taughannock Falls and Watkins Glen that is truly one of a kind.
5.) Follow the Kanacamagus Highway in the White Mountains, New Hampshire
The White Mountains is situated predominately in New Hampshire, with Maine taking a little bit of it too! Head over to the whopping 800,000-acre park and drive the Kancamagus Highway without ever having to break a sweat.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for a hike or a ramble, make sure to take a look at the many designated routes that criss-cross the forest.
6.) Discover Mt Desert Island, Maine
Mt Desert Island is a picturesque island (home to Bar Harbour, I mentioned previously).
The island itself is a beautiful place to explore. Hike to the top of Cadillac Mountain and ramble through the picturesque Acadia National Park that’s great to see in Summer and Winter.
7.) Go whale watching in Boston, Massachusetts
Boston is one of my favourite east coast cities, packed full of history and incredible seafood, there’s a massive amount to do in the city.
