THE VISA TRANSFERRING PROCEDURE:

For transferring your Maid’s Visa to the new sponsor, you will be required to assist in the transfer process and follow the steps given below-
1. Get the contact details of the new sponsor.
2. The Visa transfer form should be got done at any typing center.
3. This document should be submitted to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) office with the passport photo of the Maid.
4. You will also have to submit proof of the new sponsor’s income needs.
5. You will have to submit the labor card along with all the medical certificates and a copy of the old contract.
Dubai Maid Visa Cancellation procedure which can be done at the typing center as well as immigration branch-

At the Typing Center:
– The cancellation of the Maid’s Visa can take place by getting typed the application form in the visual form so the process can be taken place at a typing center.
– Cancellation Approval will be given to you within an hours-time.
Note- the cancellation stamp on the visa page is not mandatory. If you need it to be stamped, it can be done at the immigration branch.

AT THE IMMIGRATION BRANCH:

1. A visa cancellation process will be completed at any typing center.
2. All the documentation should be submitted at GDRFA’s Residency section along with the Maid’s passport and labor card.
3. Two cancellation receipts will be given to you. One for the sponsor and the other for the Maid to be submitted to the Dubai International Airport.
4. During the clearance procedure at Immigration, the Maid’s Visa will get canceled.
5. Submit the receipt to GDRFA to get back the deposit of 552 USD from the general directorate residency and foreign affairs (GDRFA).

The sponsor should cancel the Maid’s Visa 30 days from the expiry date. But if one fails to do so, they will have to bear the fine of 6 USD at the typing center.
In the special case of Maid Visa canceling due to sponsor’s Visa Change, one will have to go through a certain procedure. When the sponsor has to change his/her visa status due to the employment change, the sponsor will have to first cancel the Maid’s Visa before canceling his/her Visa. If the sponsor does not want the Maid’s or dependents Visa to be canceled, one can pay a deposit charge of 1361 USD at the immigration office. And once the sponsor receives the new Visa, one can collect the refund of the amount paid as a deposit to avoid the Maid’s or dependent’s visa cancelation. 

The entire Maid’s visa cancellation process can be very hectic because of the long procedures. The individual should first make sure whether he/she needs to cancel the Visa or get it transferred to the new sponsor to make the procedure less hectic and more at ease.

What is the process for housemaid visa cancellation in Dubai?

To cancel a domestic worker’s visa will require the sponsor’s original EID, and the passport, visa and EID copies of the housemaid.

The cancellation application is done via any Tadbeer office, the government fees will be 150 AED and the approval will be issued in 2/3 working days.

The housemaid will then have a maximum of 30 days in which to remain inside the UAE before exiting or changing status to a new visa under a new sponsor/company or moving on to a tourist visa.

Sponsors in the UAE can now get worker visa deposit refunded

Have you recently repatriated your domestic worker who has completed his/her tenure with your family in the UAE? You can apply for a refund on the deposit you made when you had applied for the visa.

This refundable deposit to be made by the sponsor of a domestic worker comes to Dh2,000.  This is paid to the immigration department while applying for a UAE worker visa for the domestic worker.

When the domestic help or housekeeper leaves the UAE, you can apply for the deposit earlier made. This can also be done when your domestic worker finds another sponsor to work overseas in the UAE.

The Tadbeer Center is where to make the refund request. Tadbeer centers manage services for domestic workers in the UAE. Their offices are spread across the country.

To apply for a refund, the domestic worker has to go out of the country. Or else the worker has to change the visas status to a new one.

The request must be submitted along with the following documents:

• Sponsor’s Emirates ID in original
• Deposit slip or the worker’s first entry permit (if not in hand, procure a copy of the same from the immigration department)

A request for the worker’s first entry permit can be placed and it will be sent to you via email. For this, essential details like the worker’s visa number and other details have to be provided.

For this work, you will have to pay Dh200 at the Tadbeer center for typing and cancellation charges. Upon successful processing, the refund amount will be credited to your bank account by the immigration department.

When it comes to charges, certain additional charges may be levied by some embassies and consulates on the sponsor depending on the nationality of the worker.

Prior to leaving UAE, the worker will have to pay a visit to the respective embassy or consulate. There, he will have to attend an exit interview. At this time, the sponsor will have to bring the following documents:

• Copy of the domestic worker’s passport
• Copy of the sponsor’s passport
• Proof of salary paid to the worker
• Ticket booking confirmation
• Visa cancellation paper

In the embassy or consulate, the sponsor must visit the Housemaid section. After the exit interview is cleared, the worker can leave the UAE. Then, the sponsor has to get an exit report or travel report from Amer centers. This can be obtained by providing the worker’s passport and copy of the worker’s visa.

The processing of the request after the paper is submitted to the consulate will be done within approximately 15 days. Upon processing, the consulate’s accounts department will call the sponsor and ask to collect a cheque issued under the name of the sponsor.

In cases where the worker hasn’t attended the exit interview, and the worker hasn’t left the UAE, the sponsor can get in touch with the respective consulate. Then the details on how the refund can be requested can be collected based on an affidavit from the worker.

The affidavit will clearly state the tenure of work by the domestic worker in the UAE. There must also be an acknowledgment of having received all dues. The affidavit is then submitted to the consulate so that the refund can be processed.
