Countries Where It’s Easy to Get a Work Visa |KIGALI

Work Permit Visas

visa is an official stamp in your passport authorizing you to travel, work, or study in that country for a specified length of time. All countries, including the US, require a work permit visa for foreign workers; employers will not hire you without one.

For select countries, short-term work permit visas are available by application. In other cases, such as for long-term employment, foreign employers will need to apply for the visa on your behalf. Student work exchange programs can legally assist students in obtaining a short-term work permit visa. Unpaid internships and volunteer positions may or may not require a work permit, depending on the host country’s regulations.

It’s always safe to assume that you’ll need a visa, especially if you’ll be traveling for a purpose other than tourism. Check out the visa requirements for specific countries by checking with the embassy or consulate of the country you will be visiting. Embassy and consulate contact information can be found on US Department of State’s page that lists websites of foreign embassies or the US Department of State’s Country Specific InformationPerry International’s Visa Requirement database can be useful in determining what type of visa, if any, is required based on the reason for travel and the traveler’s country of citizenship.

Estonia is one of the easiest European countries to get a work visa for digital nomads. It offers an excellent visa program allowing you to stay in Estonia for a year as a tourist while working remotely.

To qualify for the digital nomad visa, you have to prove that you are working with telecommunication technology and have a work contract. You can either show that you have a work contract with a foreign employer/company or that you are doing freelance work for clients you have a contract with.

Norway & Svalbard

Norway provides a visa for digital nomads who want to live and work in Svalbard. Svalbard is an independent territory from Norway, and it’s one of the easiest countries to move to because you don’t actually need a visa. However, to get to Svalbard, you have to go through Norway, and you may require a visa for Norway- hence the digital nomad visa.

Once you get the visa and enter Svalbard, you can stay there indefinitely as long as you have enough money to support yourself and you can provide proof that you are employed. But, keep in mind that Svalbard is not an easy country to live in due to its cold climate and bear population (yes, really).

  • There are three types of employment permits foreign workers can apply for in Malaysia. These are the employment pass, temporary employment pass, and the professional visit pass.
