Qatar Visa

How to Apply For Qatar Visa

  • One can’t use an express service while requesting for a visa from the embassy and they won’t be required to pay any additional fees other than the initial official ones.
  • The working hours of the embassies of Qatar are from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm from Monday to Friday.
  • Submission and collection of passports should be done during that time period only.
  • The applicant can get a Qatar visa application form, fill it with the required information and then submit it at the Qatar Embassy.
  • Applicants can use methods of payments such as Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, e-cash, Visa-electron, money orders and checks to pay for their visa. Personal cheques and cash are generally not accepted.
  • Each visa has to be accompanied by its own money order or company cheque. One can’t submit one company cheque for 3 different visa applications. The fees must be paid in USD dollars only.

Documents Required For Various Kinds of Visas In Qatar

The following are the documents required to get a Qatar Visa:

  • A valid passport is compulsory while submitting the visa application. The passport’s validity period must be six month longer than the applicant’s intended visit period in Qatar. The passport also has to have blank pages to print the new visa.
  • If the applicant is submitting an application for a business visa, they should provide a letter from their company with it. But if they are applying for a tourist visa, they should provide an invitation letter in order to explain the reason behind their visit to Qatar.
  • An application or a letter is required to be submitted.
  • Every visa application has to be accompanied with 2 colored passport size photographs of the applicant.
  • 2 copies of the first passport pages (photo and name must be present in the copies) along with the original itself.
  • In case of sending their application via mail, they must include a prepaid return envelope, write their name on both the recipient and sender fields. It’s recommended to avoid regular mail to minimize application loss risks.
  • Official passport holders, diplomatic and military personnel have to submit two copies of an official required provided by their government’s authorities along with a letter from the recipient company (where they’re going to work during their stay in Qatar).
  • Applicants won’t need a visa if Qatar is just a connection between flights to other countries.

Additional Visa Requirements Categorized According To Types of Visas

The visas mentioned below, except the transit visa, enable visitors to stay in Qatar for one month.

  • A joint tourist visa requires copies of 3 months of bank statement.
  • A transit visa: this visa is necessary for people who have special situations and are stopping by Qatar (for 2 days) before continuing to their destination. If you’re in a transit between flights, then you won’t need it.
  • For a tourist visa, the resident permit and copies of 3 months bank statement needs to be submitted.
  • For business visa, proof of income, ownership of the business and 3 months bank statement needs to be submitted.

TR or Transit Visa

  • You must apply using the Visa application form or Form V1.
  • Carry the original and a photocopy of your valid passport which has a validity of at least 6 months.
  • Copy of the Qatari residence ID or permit.
  • 2 passport size photographs.
  • The Visa processing time for the non-residents is 5 days.
  • Photocopy of to and fro flight tickets.

Business Visa

  • You must apply using the Visa application form or Form V1.
  • Carry the original and a photocopy of your valid passport which has a validity of at least 6 months.
  • Copy of the Qatari residence ID or permit.
  • 2 passport size photographs.
  • Employer in Qatar must provide a letter stating the business purpose. The company’s name in India with whom they are engaging in business must be mentioned in the letter along with other details like the applicant’s designation and salary. If the applicant has stayed in Qatar for less than 2 years, then the time taken for Visa processing is 5 days.
  • Non-residents cannot avail business Visa

Employment Visa

  • You must apply using the Visa application form or Form V1.
  • Carry the original and a photocopy of your valid passport which has a validity of at least 6 months.
  • Copy of the Qatari residence ID or permit.
  • 2 passport size photographs.
  • Non-residents cannot avail employment Visa
  • Original and photocopy of educational qualification documents must be carried by the applicant.
  • Potential employer in India must provide a letter stating the fact that there are no qualified Indians who is specialized for this job.
  • The original employment contract provided by the firm, company or organization must be submitted by the applicant. Photocopy of the same is also required.

Student Visa

  • You must apply using the Visa application form or Form V1.
  • Carry the original and a photocopy of your valid passport which has a validity of at least 6 months.
  • Copy of the Qatari residence ID or permit.
  • 2 passport size photographs.
  • Photocopies of educational documents such as pass certificate, mark sheet, etc. are required.
  • An admission letter from any recognized university to pursue a specific full-time course or a certificate course (in case of students who are already engaged in full-time courses in India).
  • Local sponsor must provide a salary certificate.

Visa Fee

A single exit permit costs QR10, while the cost of multiple exit permit is QR500, with validity of one year.

  • Qatar’s first visa center opened in IndiaIn a bid to simplify and accelerate work visa procedures for travelers, Qatar has opened a smooth visa facilitation center in New Delhi, India. The first Qatar Visa Centre (QVC) in India was opened in the presence of a number of officials from both the countries. Qatar Visa Center in Delhi was inaugurated by Mohammed Khater Al Khater, Ambassador of the State of Qatar. Qatar will soon open six more visa centers in the country in the coming period in the cities of Kochi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Hyderabad, and Chennai. Prior to India, Qatar had already opened the visa centers in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan as part of its ‘Qatar Visa Centers abroad’ program. The visa centers will help the people coming to Qatar from the aforementioned countries and allow them to complete fingerprint and biometric data processing, medical checkup, and employment contract signing in their home countries. Earlier, Qatar allowed Indian tourists visa free entry to the country for 30 days.
