Basic information of the UAE eVisa for Algerian passport holders

With the UAE eVisa online, you get the option to enter Dubai and the other six emirates as well. Algerian citizens can opt for either 14 days or 30 days UAE eVisa. Both visas are only for tourism purposes and for a single entry. This type of visa is extendable up to twice. Visitors will have to apply for a visa extension before the valid one expires and pay about 600 UAE Dirhams for each extension. Overstaying after the permitted extension or not requesting it on time will have penalties. Overstaying will result in fines of 100 UAE Dirhams per day overstayed, plus you are at risk of not being granted another Dubai eVisa in the future.

The visa must be utilized within the first 60 days of issuance. The visa processing takes approximately three business days, so we recommend keeping in mind country holidays and weekend days for your application not to be delayed. You can apply before the three business days if your intended arrival date is no longer than 30 days from the date you are processing your application.

What are the Dubai e visa requirements?

All applicants will need a valid passport for at least six months after the intended arrival date. A recent photo of the applicant as well. On the application, you may be asked about the intended arrival date and where you will be staying. So it is important to keep that information on hand.

Requirement of entry to the United Arab Emirates

General requirements are the same for all visitors and at least, until now Algeria does not have any special requirement to enter Dubai. All travelers arriving in either Dubai or Abu Dhabi must present upon entry their approved visa and valid passport. A vaccine certificate is not mandatory, COVID-19 vaccination certificate, a negative PCR test result, or proof of recovery will be needed to enter the UAE. All certificates must be printed in either English or Arabic for them to be valid.

The vaccine certificate must be a complete a valid one, all the vaccines approved by the World Health Organization WHO is accepted in the UAE, and the certificate must have a QR code. Vaccination is considered complete 14 days after the mandatory last dose. The COVID-19 PCR test must have been taken no more than 48 hours before boarding and must have a QR code as well. The proof of recovery must be no more than one month before the arrival date.

Currently, there are no quarantine requirements on arrival for any passengers. Visitors must download the government app where they must check in with their vaccination card or PCR test to have a “green pass” and can visit and enter places with no problem. Additionally, random PCR testing is being held on arrival in Dubai, this will depend on the officials at the airport.

All travelers must complete the official Register Arrivals and Vaccination certificates Attestation from the United Arab Emirates government. This form is the official health declaration that must have been filled out before arriving in Dubai.

If you are a passport holder of the below country or territory, no advance visa arrangements are required to visit the UAE. Simply disembark your flight at Dubai International and proceed to immigration, where your passport will be stamped with a 30‑day visit visa free of charge.

90‑day visit eligibility

If you are a passport holder of one of the below countries or territories, your passport will be stamped with a multiple entry 90‑day visit visa that’s valid for 6 months from the date of issue, and for a stay of 90 days in total. Citizens of the below European countries are also entitled to apply for a pre‑arranged visit visa if their 90‑day visa on arrival has been fully utilized.

180‑day visit eligibility

If you hold a Mexican passport you’re eligible for a multiple entry 180‑day visit visa that’s valid for 6 months from the date of issue, and for a stay of 180 days in total.

Dubai immigration procedures

As an added security measure, Immigration Authorities at Dubai International are now conducting random eye screening for visitors to Dubai.

Visitors asked to proceed for eye screening are required to present a hard copy of their visa or a printed version of the visa number confirmation page at the screening counter. If you do not have a copy with you, a charge of AED 30 per copy applies ‑ payable only in AED.

As of 29 April 2016, GCC residence permit holders will need to apply for a UAE visa before arriving in Dubai.

As of 1 May 2017, Indian nationals holding a normal passport valid for a minimum of six months from the arrival date, and a visit visa or green card issued by the USA which is valid for a minimum of six months, or holding a UK or EU residence, can obtain a visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 14 days for a charge of AED120 (subject to change). They can apply to extend their stay for an additional 14 days for AED250 (subject to change).

If you are travelling to or stopping over in Dubai with Emirates, you can submit an application and receive your UAE visa entirely online – without having to submit your passport for stamping. The online visa application service is available for residents and nationals of many countries around the world. Find out if you can apply for a UAE visa. Applicants’ passports must have at least six months’ validity as of their date of travel to Dubai, and must be machine readable passports – handwritten passports are not accepted.

This service is only available to passengers with a confirmed Emirates booking where an Emirates ticket has already been issued and the flight itinerary already includes the desired time in Dubai. The itinerary into and out of Dubai should be on one ticket (PNR), and these flights must be Emirates flights. Note that any itineraries including any flights to or from Dubai on other carriers are not eligible for the online visa service.

A minimum of four international working days prior to arrival in Dubai is required, however Emirates does recommend that online applications are made as early as possible.

UAE (Dubai) Visa Application

Nigerian passport holders require a visa to travel to Dubai and application can be done at the Dubai Visa Application Centre in Lagos or online. Travellers can apply for their Dubai visa a maximum of 2 months before their date of travel, as the validity of the visa is 58 days from the date of issue. The latest that travellers are able to apply for a visa is 2 weeks before the date of departure.

Types of Visas

96-Hour Visa: You are only eligible to stay in the UAE for a maximum of 96 hours. This Dubai visa is best suited for travellers who plan to stay for less than four days in the country.

14-Day Visa (short-term visit, single entry): This non-extendable visa is valid for 14 days from the date of issue.

30-Day Visa (short-term visit, single entry): This non-extendable visa is valid for 30 days from the date of issue.

90-Day Visa: This visa is valid for 90 days and is recommended for travellers who are going to Dubai on holiday or to visit family and friends.

Visa Application and Requirements

You will need the following documents to apply for all Dubai (UAE) visa types:

  • Nigerian passport
  • Photocopies of your ID card and passport (including valid and expired visas)
  • Visa application form (which must be filled out in detail (block letters) and signed by the applicant)
  • A copy of a confirmed itinerary (return tickets). Visitors without a return ticket might be refused entry at the airport.
  • Proof of health insurance
  • Proof of financial status – a copy of your recent bank statement
  • For tourists: A letter from your employer, stating that you have been granted leave and that you will be returning to your job when you get back. If you are self-employed, include a copy of your business registration and tax documents.
  • For visitors visiting a relative or friend, you must provide a letter of invitation from your host. The letter must include your host’s contact information, address, signature, and date, as well as a copy of their UAE passport information page or residence permit.
  • A copy of your hotel reservation
  • For the short term 30-day visitor visa, the main applicant must be of high profession and must provide evidence of this profession.
