The Ghana eVisa will be available for purposes of business, tourism, or to transit through Ghana to an onward destination. The length of stay and the number of entries permitted have not yet been confirmed by the government of Ghana.

In order to apply, it will be necessary to complete an online application with personal, passport, and travel information, which will take only a few minutes to complete. After that, some security-related questions will be asked and it will also be necessary to pay a fee for the visa to be approved.

Citizens eligible for the eVisa for Ghana who, are planning to spend more time in the country or travel for other purposes than those allowed with the electronic visa, such as to work or study, will be required to obtain an embassy visa from the nearest Ghanaian diplomatic office.

As the government of Ghana has yet to announce full details of the eVisa system, travelers are advised to periodically check this page to keep track of any updates.

The visa on arrival is a type of visa that travelers from over 30 African Union countries can obtain once they arrive in Ghana at a designated immigration checkpoint.

This travel authorization allows holders to spend up to 30 days in Ghana for tourism or business purposes.

Once eligible citizens arrive at a entry point of Ghana they will have to go directly to a border checkpoint to wait in line until an immigration officer hands them a visa on arrival form to complete. This application form must be filled in with personal, passport, and travel information.

To receive an approved Ghana visa on arrival, the applicant will also have to pay a visa on arrival fee after completing the form.

Visitors are advised that the process of obtaining a visa on arrival can involve standing in long queues and a significant amount of waiting time.
