Indian citizens holding a normal passport and either:

  • a visit visa issued by the USA or
  • a green card issued by the USA or
  • a residence visa issued by the UK or
  • a residence visa issued by the EU

can obtain a visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 14 days provided that the visa or the green card is valid for at least six months from the date of arrival into the UAE.

Tourists from other nationalities who are not eligible for a Visa On Arrival must apply for a Tourist Visa for Dubai before entering the country. They can do so through their respective embassy, a local UAE sponsor, or even a local hotel in the UAE.

The citizens of GCC countries (the Gulf Cooperation Council), which includes Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, do not require a visa to visit the UAE, they’ll obtain a visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 14 days for a fee, this can be extended again for another fee.

The GCC residents who are not national citizens but work as high-level officials such as doctors, managers, engineers, public sector employees, and their families can have a 30-day non-renewable visa at all the airports in the UAE upon arrival.
