Pakistan Visa For Afghanistan
Traveling to Pakistan is not very easy for people of Afghanistan because of visa problems. This is mainly due to the fact that there aren’t few facilities that offer visa interview or postal visa.
Afghanistan has currently lifted visa restrictions on all Pakistan nationals. Thus, all Pakistani passport holders can get a visa on arrival by making use of e-Visa facility. The citizens residing in Pakistan, who wish to enter Afghanistan for the purpose of tourism and business are required to obtain an e-Visa prior to their travel to Afghanistan.
Visa Application
This Embassy deals with the visa applications falling within its consular jurisdiction. In Afghanistan there are four consulate generals who are authorized to issue Pakistani visas and deal with consular affairs other than the Embassy, Namely Jalalabad, Mazar-e-Sharif, Kandahar and Herat.
The Embassy of Pakistan has full right to grant or reject the visa application to any person without any reason. In principle, no Visas are issued to foreigners on following grounds;
- Person of unsound Mind
- Destitute / person with no fixed place of residence
- Person convicted of criminal offences
- Smugglers, purveyors of contraband goods
- Persons whose name are in blacklist
- Persons whom presence in Pakistan would be prejudicial to the interest of Pakistan.
Categories of the Visa:
The Embassy is authorized to issue visa in three categories;
- Single entry
- Multiple Entry
- Transit
The issuing authority determines the category of visa to be issued according to specific provisions of the instructions and the merits of each applicants.
Type of Visas:
The Embassy will grant visas for the following purpose /type of the visas to the foreigners;
Visit, medical, student, business/work, official.
Pre-requisite for visa to Afghan Nationals
- There is no visa fee for Afghan Passports except business/work men.
- Applicant must have valid, Machine Readable passport.
- Applicant will have to show presence in personal
- Applicant has to provide complete filled application form (single pager) with signature and thumb impressions (Bio Matric Form) which is available on this site, copy of Passport and two photographs
- Applicant has to provide TAZKIRA copy and show original Tazkira at time of submission of application
- Applicants who are temporary residing in Pakistan will have to provide one verifiable address in Pakistan along with active telephone numbers and similar information is required for within Afghanistan.
- Applicants who are applying for medical visa will have to provide updated original as well as copies of medical transcripts from recognized or Government hospitals or Have to provide medical appointment letter from any reputable medical institutes from Pakistan along with medical transcripts.
- Applicants who are going for training / workshops/ Official works/ will have to provide the Invitation letter from Pakistan and Recommendation letter from organization working in Afghanistan.
- Applicants who are going to visit any embassy will have to provide the invitation letter from that Embassy along with other supportive documents.
Visa to Afghan Nationals having third country passport:
The Request of visa cases of such applicants would be decided only after personal interview by the ambassador / head of Mission/ consulate OR to be referred to Ministry of Interior Pakistan for prior clearance.
Pre-requisite for visa to Afghan Nationals having the third country passport
- There is a visa fee for Afghan Nationals acquiring third country passport, which varies from country to country
- Applicant must have valid, Machine Readable passport.
- Applicant will have to show presence in personal
- The entry stamps by Afghan Immigration authorities on passport must be indorsed.
- Applicant has to provide complete filled application form (single pager) with signature and thumb impressions (Bio Matric Form) which is available on this site, copy of Passport and two photographs
- Applicant has to provide TAZKIRA copy and show original Tazkira at time of submission of application

Visa for third Country Origin Nationals / INGOs/Diplomats/UN Officials/ other civil society organizations
The Request of visa cases of such applicants would be decided only after personal interview by the ambassador / head of Mission/ consulate OR to be referred to Ministry of Interior Pakistan for prior clearance.
Pre-requisite for third Country Origin Nationals
- There is a visa fee for Afghan Nationals acquired third country passport, which varies from country to country (Diplomats with diplomatic passports and UN officials are exempted)
- Applicant must have valid, Machine Readable passport.
- Applicant must have valid and work/ residence visa for Afghanistan
- Applicant with tourist or visit visa will not be entertained
- Applicant will have to show presence in personal
- The entry stamps by Afghan Immigration authorities on passport must be indorsed.
- Applicant has to provide complete filled application form (05 pager) with signature and thumb impressions (Bio Matric Form) which is available on this site, copy of Passport and two photographs
- Applicant has to provide employment proof on letterhead of organization in which he/she is working for, along with work permit card issued by Afghan Authorities
- Applicants who are applying for medical visa will have to provide updated original as well as copies of medical transcripts from recognized or Government hospitals or Have to provide medical appointment letter from any reputable medical institutes from Pakistan along with medical transcripts.
- Applicants who are going for training / workshops/ Official works/ will have to provide the Invitation letter from Pakistan and Recommendation letter from organization working in Afghanistan.

Students Visa:
Visa may be granted to the foreign students who have been accepted for admission by the recognized institutions in Pakistan, with prior clearance to and clearance from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Education, Ministry of health and Higher education commission as the case may be, who has an NOC from his Home Government for study in Pakistan.
Pre-requisite for visa to Students:
- There is no visa fee for Afghan Students.
- Applicant must have valid, Machine Readable passport mentioning occupation as “Student”.

- Applicant has to provide TAZKIRA copy and show original Tazkira at the time of submission of application
- Applicant will have to provide the original letter from Higher Education Commission in case of Scholarship student about confirmation of Admission in reputable university in Pakistan
- Applicant will have to provide the NOC / clearance letter from Ministry of Interior of Pakistan
- Applicant will have to provide the original letter (bonafide) from the University from Pakistan about confirmation of Admission or historical details of semester / sessions /start and end of study schedules
- Bonafide letter should be duly attested by the concern University as well by the the Foreign affairs
- Applicant who has completed the studies in Pakistan and have to submit theses or to finish his/her house job / Internship or waiting for equalency certificates may not be granted the student visa.
Business /Work Visa:
The Request of visa cases of such applicants should be decided only after personal interview by the ambassador / head of Mission/ Commercial consular OR to be referred to Ministry of Interior Pakistan for prior clearance.

- Applicant must have valid, Machine Readable passport mentioning occupation as “Businessman” Trade License and Registration with Pakistan Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce.

- Applicant will have to provide invitation letter from Business organization duly recommended by the concern Trade organization / association in Pakistan
- Applicant will have to provide the NOC / clearance letter from Ministry of Interior of Pakistan
Journalist Visa:
Visas of Journalists / media personnel may be granted after approval from Ministry of information and Broadcasting, Pakistan after having personal interview with the press consular of this Embassy who will decide to forward the case for approval to Pakistan or otherwise.

Visa Application Submission:
All the Visa applications should be submitted directly and personally at Windows in Embassy premises. Visa Collection officer will accept the applications after checking the supportive documents and personal interview, there is no other source / sub-contractors /agents allowed to collect the visa application forms.
