Your sponsor needs to be based in Indonesia and will be required to make the application on your behalf. The good news is this process can be completed online, as it is possible for Pakistani travellers to obtain the Electronic Visa (eVisa) for tourist visits.

There are 2 types of eVisa options available for Pakistani citizens:

  • Visit Visa: this is issued primarily for tourist purposes for those who wish to visit for a short period of time. It does not permit paid working activities.
  • Limited Stay Visa: this is provided to regular passport holders and is valid for a maximum 1-year stay in Indonesia. It’s granted for purposes including foreign investment, employment in government/private sector, education, training or research.

We will be expanding on the Visit Visa, which is the travel pass you will need to obtain for tourist purposes.

A holder of a Visit Visa is usually permitted a Single Entry travel pass, valid for up to a 60-day stay in the country. This can be extended via the immigration office a total of 5 times, with each extension providing another 30-day stay.

Indonesia Visa Requirements for Pakistani Citizens

Your sponsor will need to apply for the e-Visa on your behalf. When approved, you will receive your travel pass by email. The requirements for applying for a Visit Visa are as follows:

  • Application and guarantee letter.
  • A copy of a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months validity from the date of application.
  • Proof of living expenses for your time in Indonesia amounting to 1,500 USD.
  • Your proof of return/onward tickets.

Your travel pass should be approved within 5 working days and will be sent to you via email.

Indonesia Entry Requirements for Travellers From Pakistan

As mentioned previously, if you’re a Pakistan passport holder, you’re required to obtain travel authorisation via a sponsorship letter from a sponsor before you travel. Once you have your travel authorisation in place, it’s also important to bear in mind a few other requirements you’ll need to consider before gaining entry to the country.

To ensure your trip runs smoothly, make sure you have checked your passport for the following:

  • Check it’s valid for a minimum of 6 months from the date of your application.
  • Check it’s in good condition and not damaged or mutilated.

If you’re visiting for tourist purposes and therefore are travelling on a Visit Visa, you’re not permitted to engage in paid work. Travellers who do not follow the rules are at risk of being deported from the country.
