Family Vacation in Scotland: Hub & Spokes Road Trip - Road Trips For Families

Scotland is a wonderful place to visit. There are castles and forests and beautiful scenery, but not many people know that Scotland also has some great beaches. If you’re looking for a vacation in Europe, Scotland can be the perfect place for your family. It has many great places for families with kids of all ages, including some of the best beaches in all of Europe!

visit Aberfoyle

Aberfoyle is a village in the Stirling Council Area of Scotland. It is located in the Forth Valley, which is a popular tourist destination in Scotland. Aberfoyle has been used as a setting for several movies, including Outlander and Braveheart.

Aberfoyle has many lakes and waterfalls, so it’s great for families with kids who like to swim or hike. There are also lots of wildlife attractions nearby: you can see red squirrels at Torneyburn Zoo (about 2 miles from Aberfoyle), or take a tour through Faskally Woodland Park where you can even get up close and personal with some deer!

Great Trossachs Path

The Trossachs is a beautiful area of Scotland, which makes it a great destination for any vacationer with kids. In addition to the natural beauty of the area, there are also many things to do there with your family. The 67-mile Great Trossachs Path allows you to see all of these attractions while hiking through this beautiful landscape.

The Great Trossachs Path follows along the shores of Loch Katrine and Loch Lomond as well as other bodies of water in this part of Scotland. It also passes through portions of Rannoch Moor, one of Scotland’s most remote areas outside its national parks. This makes it easy for hikers who want an authentic sense of what life was like before modern transportation existed in this country’s countryside—and even though it can be difficult at times due to steep climbs up hillsides or across rivers (depending on where they’re located) they’ll find ample comfort at each campsite along their journey!

Loch Lomond

If you’re looking for a great place to see the Scottish countryside, Loch Lomond is one of the most beautiful places in Scotland. With many lakes, forests and mountains it’s a great place for a family vacation. There are many activities available in this area such as hiking or biking along trails on the western side of Loch Lomond. You can also go kayaking or canoeing during summer months on some of these lakes.

The town of Balloch is located right next to Loch Lomond and about an hour away from Glasgow Airport which makes it easy access for travelers coming by air into Scotland’s largest city by car or bus from Glasgow Central Bus Station (or even taxi).

If you’ve got a camera, save some room on your memory card!

As a photographer, I’m always looking for opportunities to take photos. That’s why I was given the task of writing this article about Scotland with kids. As a father of three, I’ve got a lot of experience with taking pictures—and with getting my kids to pose for them.

Here are some tips for getting great photos on your vacation:

  • Take lots of pictures! If you have a camera, save some room on your memory card!
  • Don’t forget to capture the moment with your family and friends at home (and maybe do some group shots). This can be especially important if one or two people in the group don’t want their picture taken—they may feel left out when they see all those great images later on Facebook or Instagram!
  • Don’t forget that scenery makes great photography too! So get outside as much as possible and explore what nature has laid out before you. You never know what might happen while exploring; maybe there’ll be an animal sighting or beautiful sunset over Loch Ness! Hopefully not though… just kidding 😉

Conclusion

Scotland is a great destination for families. The country has lots to see and do, but it’s also very kid-friendly. You won’t find any theme parks here, but you will find plenty of adventure opportunities that are perfect for kids of all ages. From castles to beaches and everything in between, Scotland is the perfect place for an unforgettable family vacation!
