30‑day visit eligibility
If you are a passport holder of the below country or territory, no advance visa arrangements are required to visit the UAE. Simply disembark your flight at Dubai International and proceed to immigration, where your passport will be stamped with a 30‑day visit visa free of charge.

90‑day visit eligibility
If you are a passport holder of one of the below countries or territories, your passport will be stamped with a multiple entry 90‑day visit visa that’s valid for 6 months from the date of issue, and for a stay of 90 days in total. 180‑day visit eligibility
If you hold a Mexican passport you’re eligible for a multiple entry 180‑day visit visa that’s valid for 6 months from the date of issue, and for a stay of 180 days in total.
Dubai immigration procedures
As an added security measure, Immigration Authorities at Dubai International are now conducting random eye screening for visitors to Dubai.
Visitors asked to proceed for eye screening are required to present a hard copy of their visa or a printed version of the visa number confirmation page at the screening counter. If you do not have a copy with you, a charge of AED 30 per copy applies ‑ payable only in AED.
Important information
Before you travel to the UAE, please check your visa requirements and make sure you have a valid visa if needed, or if your passport needs to be valid for a minimum period. As of 29 April 2016, GCC residence permit holders will need to apply for a UAE visa before arriving in Dubai.
As of 1 May 2017, Indian nationals holding a normal passport valid for a minimum of six months from the arrival date, and a visit visa or green card issued by the USA which is valid for a minimum of six months, or holding a UK or EU residence, can obtain a visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 14 days for a charge of AED120 (subject to change). They can apply to extend their stay for an additional 14 days for AED250 (subject to change).

If you are travelling to or stopping over in Dubai with Emirates, you can submit an application and receive your UAE visa entirely online – without having to submit your passport for stamping. The online visa application service is available for residents and nationals of many countries around the world. Find out if you can apply for a UAE visa. Applicants’ passports must have at least six months’ validity as of their date of travel to Dubai, and must be machine readable passports – handwritten passports are not accepted.
This service is only available to passengers with a confirmed Emirates booking where an Emirates ticket has already been issued and the flight itinerary already includes the desired time in Dubai. The itinerary into and out of Dubai should be on one ticket (PNR), and these flights must be Emirates flights. Note that any itineraries including any flights to or from Dubai on other carriers are not eligible for the online visa service.
A minimum of four international working days prior to arrival in Dubai is required, however Emirates does recommend that online applications are made as early as possible.

As we all know that the UAE visa is going to be implemented soon. So, if you have already decided to have a foreign baby, then this article will help you in getting your baby’s visa from the UAE no matter where he/she was born and how old he/she is . New born babies can be granted a UAE visa for their parents to accompany them. The parents will spend about one week in Dubai, the time of which being free of charge like any other tourist.
The visa for a new born child is a special type of visa that allows the holder entry into the United Arab Emirates as well as all other countries in the region. This visa can be applied for at any embassy or consulate within the region, but there are some requirements that must be met before you can receive it. You will need to prove that you are married or have been divorced and that your spouse has given birth to a child. You will also need to provide proof of citizenship or residence in one of the following ways:
1. An official copy of your birth certificate
2. A copy of your passport with an entry stamp from one of those countries (this can be an entry stamp from another country’s consulate)
3. A letter from your employer requesting permission to travel with your child on business
4. A letter from a local hospital stating that you have recently given birth and need to leave immediately due to family emergencies

Mabrouk Ma Yak
What is Mabrouk Ma Yak?
Mabrouk Ma Yak is an integrated eService for newborn Emiratis. Under this eService, a newborn Emirati can get:
- a birth certificate
- his/her name added in the family book
- his/her passport
- an Emirates Identity card
- thiqa (insurance)
- health card (optional).
In addition, his/her name will be registered in the population register.
Parents will have an option to apply for paternity and maternity leaves and child allowance to Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (applicable only for employees of the federal government).
Pre-requisites for the service
In order to get this service,
- the father must apply for it within 3 months from the date of the baby’s birth
- he must be a UAE National and his wife should be added to the family book
- he must have a verified account on UAE Pass
- the baby should have been born at one of the hospitals that provide the Mabrouk Ma Yak service and
- the following documents should have been submitted while opening a file in the hospital:
- valid Emirates ID of both parents
- family book
- marriage certificate (only if the woman is delivering for the first time).
Service steps
Follow these steps to get the identification documents for a newborn Emirati:
- inform the hospital that you wish to avail the Mabrouk Ma Yak service
- you will receive an SMS confirming completion of the procedure. The SMS will include a link to complete your request online
- log in to the Mabrouk Ma Yak Service portal and fill in the newborn baby’s name and upload his/her photo
- apply for paternity and maternity leaves and child allowance (this is optional and applicable only to employees of the federal government)
- choose either ‘home delivery’ or ‘collect from service centre’ for receiving the document
- pay fees online
- you will receive an SMS after the documents are ready.
Note:
- if you had chosen ‘collect from service centre’, then please visit General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners’ Affairs along with the original family book.
- If you had chosen ‘home delivery’, then the documents will be delivered at the home address mentioned while submitting the application.
Entities participating in the service
The service is provided as a consequence of cooperation among Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security, Ministry of Health and Prevention, Ministry of Finance, Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, Dubai Health Authority, Emirates Post, Emirates Health Services, Federal Authority for Government Human Resources and other federal and local entities.
Marriage as a prerequisite
Under the UAE law, marriage is the only legal bond for a man and a woman to establish a relationship and form a family. The man and woman must be legally married to each other to get legal recognition for their child.
Getting a birth certificate
After the baby is born, the hospital will provide a stamped and signed birth notification.
Government hospitals will issue birth certificate as a next step.
However, for babies born in private hospitals, parents will need to apply to Ministry of Health and Prevention or the health author
Birth certificate and residence visa for newborn expatriates
Residents have a maximum period of 30 days to register their child’s birth in the UAE. If the parents are of different nationalities, the child will adopt the nationality of the father.
To process the birth certificates, a parent must submit the following identification papers to the hospital where the child is born, or to the relevant health authority in the emirate:
- attested Arabic translated marriage certificate, if it is in a language other than Arabic
- copy and original of husband’s and wife’s passport and residence visa
- birth notification details from the hospital
- discharge summary from the hospital.
All expatriates must get birth certificates attested by Ministry of Health and Prevention and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Birth certificates stamped by Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (HAAD) or Dubai Health Authority (DHA) are equivalent to the seal of Ministry of Health and Prevention.
Residents have 120 days from the birth of their child to arrange the formal documents which includes birth certificates, passports, Emirates ID and visas of their new born babies. If the residence visa is not finalised within 120 days, then a fee of AED100 per day would be charged for each day over the 120-day period, and the baby will not be allowed to exit the country.
Updating family book (UAE nationals)
After you get the birth certificate, you should visit the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs with the same set of required documents to add the new born to the family book
Getting a passport
Based on the birth certificate, you can apply for a passport of the baby.
UAE nationals can apply for their children’s passport through General Directorates of Residence and Foreigners Affairs/Citizenship Departments. They can also apply online through the Ministry of Interior’s website.
Expatriate residents need to apply to their embassy in the UAE.
Getting UAE Residence Visa for Newborn Babies

During the Pregnancy
You will need to make sure that you have an attested marriage certificate if you’ve married outside the UAE. If you’re working and intending to be back to work following the birth of your child, it’s best to inform your employer. Also, talk to lawyers and legal consultants in UAE so you are aware of all of your rights as per the UAE Federal Law on employment. Women in the UAE are entitled to forty-five calendar days as paid maternity leave. This includes the period prior to and following childbirth. For eighteen months following childbirth and you’ve returned to work, you’re entitled to two half-hour breaks either for breast pumping or breastfeeding.
Acquiring Necessary Documents for a Newborn
Following childbirth, you’ll only have 120 days to organize the passport of a newborn, its UAE residency visa, as well as the Emirates ID. There will be a fine of up to Dhs 100 each day after the allowed period of time.
- Passport
Check with your Home Office or embassy for the procedure in acquiring a passport for a newborn child. The process and requirements can differ, depending on the country where you are from. A newborn child also has to possess an Emirates ID. In order to apply for one, there is a need to secure the following:
- Passport of the baby
- The birth certificate that was issued by a Health Authority
- Residence visa of the newborn child issued by UAE authorities
- Emirates ID card copy of the father (colored)
- Passport size photos of the newborn with a white background and eyes open
- A completed form for ID card application
- Original birth certificate of the father or the original passport
If a child was born outside of the UAE, there is no option for availing of a visa on arrival. This applies to all minors or people under the age of eighteen years old planning to travel to the UAE with their parents.
The government of UAE announced that it will issue a visa to new born babies in 2021.
The announcement was made by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
According to the announcement, this visa will be valid for three months starting from 2021. The announcement also said that if the child is older than three months, he/she should apply for a long-term visa.
This new visa policy is applicable only for newborn babies and children who are less than three years old. This means that parents must apply for this visa before their baby’s birth date.
Conclusion
