Visa For Musicians USA

Following a mutual interest between politicians and the hip hop community, we released our platform “Visa For Music” earlier this month. The purpose of this platform is to help showcase the talents of up-and-coming music artists while simultaneously helping ease the obstacles musicians have when trying to secure travel visas. This is our final idea before considering a new development project.

Visa for music is a crowdfunding platform that aims to help young independent musicians to raise the funds they need to produce their albums.

Music is one of the most misused types of intellectual property in the world. Copyright laws put into place by our governments have created a grey area where musicians need to be careful before sampling another artist’s music. These disputes cause issues for musicians like Jay-Z and his hit “Girls, Girls, Girls” that was almost taken down from iTunes due to a copyright dispute. But what if travel companies started accepting song files as payment? That’s exactly what Touriago is doing .

What kind of visa do I need to perform in the U.S.?

It’s important that you establish which U.S. visa is the most appropriate one to apply for. The crucial thing is to answer these questions objectively:

  1. Are you a solo artist (with or without a band) of exceptional ability? If yes then you should probably be seeking an O-1.
  2. Are you in a band, jazz, or classical ensemble with sustained international renown? If yes then you should probably be seeking a P-1.
  3. Have you been invited to perform at an official music industry showcase event? If yes then you should probably be seeking a B-1, but only if you have no paid gigs, and the principal reason the audience is in attendance is not to be entertained, but to consider hiring you in the future.
  4. Do you perform folkloric or traditional music, and you are going to the US to give culturally unique presentations? If yes then your best option may be the P-3.

Conclusion

Touriago.com has the potential to be a useful service for any musician. It is easy to use and provides musicians with a visa-like card that can be used for many necessities. However, there are still some bugs to be worked out which could potentially scare away users. Overall, Touriago.com serves as a creative solution to some of the financial difficulties musicians often face when touring in another country.
