Finding the right birthday party place in Los Angeles Summer is key to making your child’s birthday a success. There are tons of places around here to choose from, but only a few will make the cut based on your budget and needs.

Starting on the internet, it’s possible for you to plan amazing birthday parties on your own. But if you are a newbie and have no idea where to start, that’s okay! I’ve been in your shoes myself, and have helped hundreds of people plan birthday events in Los Angeles that they’ll remember well in to the future.

They say every culture has its own festival and Holi is one of the biggest celebrations in India. According to history, it is said that during the celebration of Holi, Lord Krishna used to visit his friends on this day and thoroughly entertain them by playing his flute.

Los Angeles is a great city for birthday parties. There are so many options to choose from, depending on your budget and your preference for activities. Here are some of our favorite options:

-Aquarium of the Pacific – This aquarium has a beautiful downtown location and is a great place for kids to learn about marine life. Kids can touch animals like sea cucumbers and sharks, see videos about different ocean environments, and participate in interactive activities. They also have an IMAX theater where you can watch educational films or popular movies like Finding Nemo (the kids will love this!).

-Magicopolis – Magicopolis is one of our favorite magic shops in Los Angeles. They also offer magic shows that will thrill kids of all ages with their sleight-of-hand tricks! Show times change seasonally so check their website before you go!

-Santa Monica Pier Aquarium – This aquarium features an underwater tunnel where you can view sea life up close as well as an indoor theater where you can see sea lions performing tricks for the crowd through glass windows across from them (this is one of our favorite things). There is also an outdoor area where

Have a bumpin’, flippin’ birthday at EightyTwo

  • Downtown Arts District

Think of this as a Chuck E. Cheese’s birthday party for grown-ups. Arts District hangout EightyTwo was one of the first barcade-style spots to hit L.A., and it remains one of our favorites thanks both its game selection and its drink menu (the D.J., a twist on an old-fashioned that’s lit on fire, is practically made for birthdays). At any given time, you’ll find a rotating lineup of about 30 classic arcade cabinets (think: NBA JamGalagaThe Simpsons) and nearly two dozen decade-spanning pinball machines.

Karaoke is everywhere in L.A. From Koreatown to the Valley, hoarse renditions of Journey, the B-52s and Sir Mix-A-Lot can be heard wafting out of karaoke bars on many a city block. If you’re looking to perform in front of a crowd, Karaoke Bleu is among our favorites. But if you want to keep the embarrassment among friends, try a private room at Max Karaoke Studio.

With locations all over town, Kazunori Nozawa’s mini-empire favors straightforward, no-nonsense fresh sushi, sashimi and hand rolls over the usual Dragon and Rainbow rolls—as exemplified by Nozawa’s trademark “Trust Me” menu item, which decides diners’ sushi dishes for them. You can get that dinner for free on your birthday, though you’ll have to meet a couple of conditions and fill out some paperwork first. The short version: bring a check-in card to Sugarfish on two separate visits within a year and you can redeem it for a “Trust Me” gift on your birthday.

There are a few deciding factors that define a true tiki bar: It has to be a dive. There must be ample umbrellas in your cocktail. And the kitsch factor should be through the (bamboo thatched) roof. Nothing says “happy birthday” like some drunken refrains around a Scorpion Bowl at Tiki No.

Even before roller skating’s sudden rise on TikTok, the four-wheeled hobby had plenty of fans in L.A., and this kitschy Glendale rink has remained among its most fun destinations. The 1950s spot doesn’t serve alcohol, but it does sling snacks and play tunes well into the evening—and you can even book the place all to yourself for an ice cream party.

Birthday celebrations with your friends and family call for a restaurant that can feed a small army. Thankfully, L.A.’s rich with family-style meals that should do the trick, no matter your craving: Park’s BBQ is an easy recommendation if you’re craving Korean BBQ, Bludso’s Bar-&-Que if you’re after some Texas-style meats or Guelaguetza for the finest moles in town.

Hit the lanes and go bowling

  • Things to do

Bowling alleys abound in Los Angeles—some new and highfalutin’ with cocktail bars and dress codes, others old and divey, crumbling with character. You can knock ’em down all over the city, but consider an evening at L.A.’s most unique alleys—the steampunk-esque lanes at Highland Park Bowl or the swanky private lanes at the Spare Room—for a special birthday celebration.

Go to Disneyland

  • Things to do

Some park guests mistakenly believe that the happiest place on earth is free on your birthday—blame it on a limited time 2009 promotion that offered just that—so let’s clear this up: Disneyland is not free on your birthday. It is, however, a magical place to mark another year. Stop by City Hall (or the Chamber of Commerce in California Adventure) on your way in and pick up a pin-on birthday button. Seemingly every employee you encounter will wish you a happy birthday for the rest of the day.

Looking for something other than chicken fingers while you’re there? Check out the 30 best things to eat at Disneyland.
